Is the Bible accurate?

Is it the accurate, unshakeable word of God?
You may have heard the scientific argument that, since the bible has been copied and transcribed many times and since there are no original manuscripts available, it can’t be reliable.
You may have heard the scientific argument that, since the bible has been copied and transcribed many times and since there are no original manuscripts available, it can’t be reliable.
But, the FACT is that the scribes who copied the manuscripts of the Old Testament over the centuries, were professionals, dedicated to accuracy. Modern day scholars have been able to test that accuracy in a number of ways: For example, when the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, they included a complete work of Isaiah, in Hebrew, written about 125 years before Christ. That work, is word for word identical to more than 95% of today’s standard Hebrew bible. The 5% consists of a minor spelling changes and obvious clerical errors. Think about how quickly most types of information change when passed from one person to another. With that in mind, the Dead Sea Scrolls gave us the perfect scientific opportunity to verify the accuracy of specific scriptures that were passed on from scribe to scribe over a two thousand year span of time! Does this evidence prove that the Bible is the unshakeable word of God? No, but it does mean that this specific historical literature has been extremely well preserved and translated over thousands of years.
Or maybe you’ve heard that archaeology proves the Bible wrong. That was a popular belief in the 19th Century... but that certainly doesn’t hold up anymore.
The last two hundred years have clearly demonstrated that the more archeological discoveries we make, the more support and credibility the Bible gains. One of the most renowned archaeologists of our time, Nelson Glueck, has made over 1500 of his archeological discoveries using the Bible as a guide! He has been credibly quoted for stating that, “No archaeological discovery has ever been made that contradicts the historical content of the Bible.” Does this prove that the Bible the unshakeable word of God? No, but it does give tremendous credibility to the historical accuracy of this ancient book.

More amazing facts about the Bible:
The Bible is made of 66 books, written over a span of 1500 years, by 40 human authors, in three different languages. And yet, it is totally unified in its story, spirit, theme, and historical data. Do you have any idea of the odds of that happening by coincidence? Does this prove that the Bible the unshakable word of God? No, but I think it is becoming more and more logical (when added to all the other facts) to conclude that there is a VERY strong argument here.

To add to all the above...Did you know that there are over 322 SPECIFIC Old Testament prophecies that are fulfilled and documented in the New Testament, through the person of Jesus Christ? And when I say specific, I mean it right down to the small details: his betrayal, exactly how much money He would be betrayed for, that he would be pierced, but no bones broken. Also, there is the prophecy of how Jesus would die…most people probably know that it was a written prophecy that Jesus would be crucified… However, very few people realize that this prophecy was written hundreds of years before crucifixion was invented as a form of capital punishment!
